After a pretty disappointing day for Team GB (yeah I know we won some medals but there were some athletes that missed out that I’m sad for them that they didn’t win a medal), I turned on Olympics Tonight and who was there?

IAN THORPE!

I mean I KNEW he was still in London because I have been stalking reading his Twitter page, but I thought the BBC were done with him, and I’d never see him again.

And then OMG he said “ee by gum” and I was just can we love you any more???

The fact that he attempted a Northern accent (yay for the Northerners) has just made me appreciate him even more (if that is possible).

And he made SUCH sense when talking about the problem with the Australians in this Olympics, and how he is tired that those who really try or who win a silver or bronze are being made to feel like they didn’t achieve anything. I mean, some athletes out there don’t expect to reach a final, maybe they’re not quite there yet, so when they do reach a final and they are HAPPY to come in 6th… why should some journalist knock them down for achieving more than they dreamed possible?

I’m pretty sure that is the last I’ll be seeing of Ian Thorpe in these Olympics. Maybe the BBC have tumblr spies and they know people wanted more of him. Because I can’t fathom why they brought him in, so who knows maybe they are out there after all.

If you are indeed out there Mr. BBC Tumblr Spy….

PLEASE BRING IAN THORPE BACK FOR 2016! WE NEED HIM BADLY! WE NEED HIS SOMEWHAT QUESTIONABLE STYLE, HIS AUSSIE HUMOUR, HIS SMILE, WE NEED TO HEAR HIS LAUGH AND YES WE NEED TO HEAR HIS EXCELLENT ASSESSMENT ON SWIMMING AND BASICALLY EVERYTHING ELSE ON THIS EARTH!

Thank you

What you will find on this blog: Musicals (stage and screen). Films (the classics especially). The Lord of the Rings. Sherlock. Food. Disney. America. Mycroft Holmes. Karl Urban. Nature. American history. Animals. Marvel. Villains. Star Wars. The West Wing. Anything else that takes my fancy. This could be deemed eccentric, geeky, nerdy or almost normal. Current obsession: Mycroft Holmes/Mark Gatiss.

This is a Doctor Who free zone. But I won't hold it against you if you do like DW. Honest.

Basic info: 26 years of age, from the UK, female. Hence why you see a lot of male characters & actors on my blog. Especially the more mature kind. (With a few young un's thrown in, which is a shock to me but there you go).
